Looking back at an event in Osaka in April 2014.
I performed at the reception party for the “INTERMOLD 2014 / Metal Press Processing Technology Exhibition” held at INTEX Osaka.
Two Panels: “Takumi” and “Hisho”
On the main stage, I performed a live calligraphy session accompanied by the traditional sounds of Shamisen and Shinobue (Japanese flute).
For this performance, two massive panels were prepared.
I wrote different characters on each to honor the spirit of Japanese manufacturing.
- 「匠」 (Takumi – Artisan/Mastery): Dedicated to the master craftsmanship and high-level technology gathered at the exhibition.
- 「飛翔」 (Hisho – Soaring): Wishing for the industry’s further leap and success on the global stage.

Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom
Alongside the characters for “Hisho” (Soaring), I painted dynamic Cherry Blossom (Sakura) branches in full bloom.
The combination of the powerful calligraphy and the elegant sakura added a touch of Japanese spring and artistic energy to the reception.
It was a privilege to present the beauty of Japanese culture at a venue dedicated to technological innovation.
