Looking back to January 18, 2015, we revisit a lively New Year’s event that brought the community together through the traditional art of calligraphy.
Celebrating the New Year with Ink
At the Kawagoe Housing Stage, a hub for lifestyle and family, we hosted two sessions (morning and afternoon) of a special “Kakizome” (First Calligraphy of the Year) workshop. Both sessions were a resounding success, filled with participants eager to commit their new year’s resolutions to paper under the direct guidance of Chosho Yabe.

Recognizing Young Talent
Simultaneously, the Masumi Shodo School held its student exhibition within the venue’s Center House. The space was transformed by the vibrant energy of the children’s brushstrokes, catching the eyes of many families visiting the model homes.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the “Kawagoe Housing Stage Award.” Five outstanding students were selected for this special honor, celebrating their hard work and creativity. It was a day where art, family, and future aspirations came together in perfect harmony.
