Looking back to 2019, we revisit a prestigious collaboration that brought the energy of traditional calligraphy into the heart of the financial district.
The Concept: “Alpha” (α)
We were honored to receive a commission from Asset Management One Alternative Investments Co., Ltd. to create a bespoke piece for their office lobby. The requested motif was the Greek letter “Alpha” (α).
In the world of finance, “Alpha” represents the active return on an investment—the value added by the manager’s skill. It symbolizes excellence, potential, and the beginning of something new. Chosho Yabe interpreted this mathematical and financial concept through the fluid, dynamic strokes of Shodo.
Harmony of Tradition and Corporate Elegance
The artwork features:
- Dynamic Brushwork: A powerful, circular stroke that evokes continuous movement and growth.
- The Frame: A luxurious gold frame paired with a deep navy matte, perfectly complementing the sophisticated atmosphere of a top-tier financial institution.
- The Impact: Placed in the lobby, it serves not just as decoration, but as a symbol of the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional value.
This project exemplifies how bespoke art can elevate a corporate space, impressing visitors and inspiring employees alike. It is a testament to the fact that the spirit of Zen and the sharpness of modern business can coexist in perfect harmony.

2019年の活動より、特別なコミッションワーク（受注制作）の記憶を振り返ります。
この度、アセットマネジメントOneオルタナティブインベストメンツ株式会社様よりご依頼をいただき、オフィスの顔となるロビーに飾る書作品を制作いたしました。題材は、ギリシャ文字の「α（アルファ）」です。
「価値」の象徴としての書
投資の世界において「アルファ」とは、市場平均を上回る超過収益、すなわち運用者の手腕によって生み出される「付加価値」を意味します。また、物事の「はじまり」を象徴する文字でもあります。
矢部澄翔は、この抽象的な概念を、墨の濃淡と力強い筆致で表現しました。一筆で描かれた円環のようなフォルムは、途切れることのないエネルギーの循環と、企業の永続的な繁栄を願うものです。
空間に品格を与える「額装」の力
作品を収める額縁には、重厚感のあるゴールドを採用しました。深い紺色のマット（台紙）と組み合わせることで、書のモノクロームの世界が際立ち、モダンでラグジュアリーなオフィス空間に見事に調和しています。
企業の理念やビジョンをアートとして可視化し、空間の質を高める。これこそが、私たちが提案するオーダーメイド・アートの真価です。
