Commission Work: “Steadfast and Decisive” for Niigata Kenshin Plaza

We open our archives to share a piece that embodies the unwavering spirit required in leadership, delivered to the heart of Niigata’s medical community.

The Motto: “Ken-nin Ka-ketsu” (堅忍果決)

We were honored to create a significant piece for the Chairman’s Office of the Health Medicine Prevention Association, Niigata Kenshin Plaza. The commission called for the four-character idiom “Ken-nin Ka-ketsu”.

This powerful phrase describes a state of mind that is “steadfast in endurance and decisive in action.” It represents the ideal qualities of a leader: the patience to endure difficulties and the sharp judgment to make bold decisions when the time is right. It is a guiding principle for those steering an organization responsible for public health and longevity.

Gold on Black: A Modern Statement

To match the dignity of the Chairman’s suite, we chose a bold, modern aesthetic.

  • The Contrast: Instead of traditional white paper, we used a deep black background. Upon this abyss, the characters were brushed in luminous Gold ink.
  • The Symbolism: The black represents unwavering conviction, while the gold signifies eternal value and light.
  • The Frame: A textured, metallic-finish frame adds a contemporary edge, transforming the traditional calligraphy into a piece of modern luxury art.

In the quiet solitude of the executive office, this artwork stands as a silent partner, supporting weighty decisions with its golden resilience.
