Looking back at a unique and inspiring corporate event.
I had the privilege of performing the opening act for a reception party hosted by a corporate client.
“Asobi” (アソビ) – The Power of Playfulness
To kick off the gathering, I delivered a dynamic calligraphy performance.
The word I chose to write was 「アソビ」 (Asobi), written in Katakana.
It translates to “Play” or “Playfulness.”
In a business context, “Asobi” represents essential elements for success:

- Creativity: New ideas are born from a playful mind.
- Flexibility: Like the “play” in a steering wheel, having room to maneuver is crucial for stability.
- Innovation: Enjoying the challenge leads to breakthroughs.
I poured my spirit into these three characters, wishing for the company to always cherish the spirit of enjoyment and freedom.
From Performance to the President’s Office
This project went beyond just the live performance.
I was commissioned to re-create the same word I wrote on stage as a permanent artwork.
I carefully brushed “Asobi” again on high-quality paper, and after professional framing, the piece was delivered.
I am honored to report that this artwork is now displayed in the President’s Office.
It brings me great joy to know that this reminder to “never forget to play” watches over the company’s decisions from such a significant place.
