Looking back at a reception held in Shinagawa in 2015.
I performed at the “Meeting Japan 2015” for a Medical University, held at The Landmark Square Tokyo.
Shifting the Atmosphere
The event was a standing buffet party with about 70 guests, including many from overseas.
In a lively environment where guests are enjoying conversation and meals, drawing attention can be a challenge.
However, this is where the true power of Shodo lies.
The moment the brush touched the paper, I felt the atmosphere of the entire room shift instantly.
The chatter faded, and a tense, focused silence filled the venue.
It was a moment where the “air” of the room was completely transformed by the energy of the performance.
“Jounetsu” (Passion)
In that focused atmosphere, I wrote the characters 「情熱」 (Jou-netsu).
It means “Passion.”
I chose this word to honor the ardor and dedication of the medical professionals gathered there.
Gifts of Calligraphy
To express Japanese hospitality (Omotenashi), I presented Shikishi (colored paper) with calligraphy to the guests as souvenirs.
I also had the pleasure of presenting a special requested calligraphy piece to the representative professor, who was delighted with the gift.
It was a wonderful night of exchange and art.

2015年の活動記録です。
品川の The Landmark Square Tokyo で開催された、医科大学主催の「Meeting Japan 2015」にて書道パフォーマンスを披露させていただきました。
一瞬にして変わる空気
海外からのゲストを含む約70名様が出席された、立食スタイルのパーティー。
皆様がお食事や会話に夢中になっている賑やかな空間でしたが、筆を執った瞬間、その場の空気が一変するのを肌で感じました。
あれほど賑やかだった会場が静まり返り、皆様の視線が筆先に集まる。
「書」が持つ、場の空気を支配し変えてしまう力を改めて実感した瞬間でした。
揮毫：「情熱」
揮毫したのは「情熱」の二文字。
医療に携わる皆様の熱い想いに敬意を表し、力強く書き上げました。
書のおもてなし
パフォーマンスの後は、ゲストの皆様へ揮毫した色紙をプレゼントさせていただきました。
また、リクエストをいただいていた代表の先生へも書の贈り物をお渡しし、大変喜んでいただけました。
パーティーに「和」の彩りを添えられたことを嬉しく思います。
